Homebase Roofing

Insurance claim assistance

Roof insurance claims, handled like we've done it 500 times.

Because we have. We meet your adjuster, submit supplements, and fight for the scope your roof actually needs.

Most homeowners file exactly one roof claim in their life. Insurance carriers file thousands a week. That imbalance is why so many homeowners end up with a check that doesn't cover the actual work. Homebase fixes that: we know the process, we speak the language, and we do the paperwork.

The 5-step Homebase insurance claim process

  1. Free inspection. On your roof in under 48 hours. Written report, chalk-marked photos, honest verdict on whether you have a real claim.
  2. File with your carrier. Usually a phone call or a claim on your carrier's app. We tell you exactly what to say — and what not to.
  3. Adjuster meeting. We're on the roof with them. We walk them through the damage — not the other way around. This is where claims are won.
  4. Scope and supplement. If the initial scope is short (it often is), we submit supplements with photos, invoices, and code references until the settlement covers the actual work.
  5. Replacement and depreciation recovery. We finish the roof, submit the certificate of completion, and help you collect the RCV (Replacement Cost Value) minus depreciation you get back after the work is done.

Texas roof insurance claim deadlines

  • Filing window: Texas gives you at least one year from date of loss; some carriers allow two. Don't wait — proof of the storm gets harder as time passes.
  • Adjuster response: By Texas law, carriers must acknowledge a claim within 15 days and pay approved claims within 5 business days of acceptance.
  • Depreciation recovery: Most policies give you 180 days to 2 years to complete the work and recover the depreciation portion. Don't leave money on the table.

Common insurance mistakes we help you avoid

  • Filing before an inspection — 60% of "no damage" verdicts are reversed when a roofer is on the roof with the adjuster.
  • Accepting the first ACV check as final — the RCV difference is often thousands.
  • Signing your carrier's preferred-contractor agreement — you can pick your own roofer in Texas.
  • Waiting past your policy's completion window and losing the depreciation.
