Homebase Roofing

Parker, TX

Roofing in Parker, TX.

Bigger roofs, longer rooflines, more valleys. Parker houses aren't tract houses and shouldn't be quoted like them.

Parker is acreage country. Custom homes on one-acre-plus lots, long complex rooflines, multiple gables, turrets, dormers, metal accent roofs over porches and bay windows, and roof areas that routinely run 40 to 70 squares where a typical Plano home is 25. None of that is harder to do well — it just takes more material, more valley protection, and a crew that has done it before.

Where we work in Parker

We cover all of Parker, including the estate neighborhoods off Dillehay, Parker Road, Brand Road, Southview, and Meandering Way, plus the homes backing onto Southfork and the acreage tracts toward Lucas. Many of these homes were custom-built between 1995 and 2008 and are on an original or first-replacement roof.

What makes a Parker roof different

  • Valley count. Complex custom rooflines can have eight or ten valleys. Valleys are where roofs leak first, so we use ice-and-water membrane in every one rather than rolled felt.
  • Mixed materials. Shingle field with standing-seam metal over porches and bays. The transition flashing between the two is the single most common leak point we find in Parker.
  • Steep pitch. Anything over 8/12 needs staging and fall protection, which adds labor. An honest quote says so instead of hiding it.
  • Exposed lots. Fewer neighboring houses and fewer mature trees means wind hits the roof at full strength. Ridge cap and hip shingles fail here first.
  • Large gutters. That much roof area needs 6-inch gutters and oversized downspouts, or water overshoots and undermines the foundation. See gutter installation.

Hail and insurance in Parker

Parker sits squarely in the hail path between Allen and Lavon. On a 50-square roof, the difference between an adjuster approving three slopes and approving the whole roof can be twenty thousand dollars — which is why we walk and chalk every slope individually and meet the adjuster up there rather than sending photos and hoping. The full process is on the roof insurance claim page, and the storm damage page covers wind and limb strikes.

Permits

The Town of Parker requires a permit for replacement, and larger custom roofs sometimes need a structural note when decking is replaced across a wide span. We handle the filing.
